Gippsland Asphalt currently have an opportunity for a mechanically mindedAsphalt Plant Operator / Batcher to join our team, based in Traralgon, Victoria. Ideally, you will have experience within a similar role or exposure to a high paced manufacturing environment, however this position would also suit someone looking to break into the asphalt production industry with a strong willingness to learn and grow. A great opportunity for training and career development within this role.

Experience:
n
Be mechanically minded, and self motivated with a robust commitment to safety and quality. Hold a solid interest in the Asphalt, manufacturing or quarry industry.
n
Plant operator experience in a similar production or manufacturing environment - time spent in asphalt production, concrete or quarrying.
n
Previous experience maintaining plant machinery with a strong mechanical aptitude will be highly regarded
n
Have a willingness to work shift work and ability to work outside normal business hours, in particular night-shift and weekends.
n
Exposure to quality control/previous experience in a NATA laboratory, testing of asphalt, raw materials/ aggregates is an advantage
n
Experience in logistics, administration and / or weighbridge operations (or willingness to learn)
n
Hold current licenses for a Front-End Loader and Forklift is highly desired.
n
Be outcome focused and have a solid work ethic

Proficient communication and team work skills
