Key Responsibilities

Plan menus, estimate food and kitchen labour costs, and order supplies
n
Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
n
Liaise with the Director,



kitchen and service staff regarding food preparation
n
Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise kitchen staff on procedures when required
n
Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard
n
Ensure compliance with and enforcement of hygiene and safety regulations
n
Assist with the selection and training of kitchen staff
n
Manage food storage, including freezing and preservation where necessary
n

Maintain a strong guest focus at all times
n
Take responsibility for the quality of all dishes served
n
Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests
n
Complete opening and closing checklists accurately
n
Follow daily preparation lists at the start of each shift
n

Qualifications & Experience

n

n
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Certificate IV in Kitchen Management, or equivalent
n
Minimum of 1 year's experience working as a chef
