About Our Client We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Australian provider of specialised asset management solutions for critical infrastructure across the APAC region. They design and manufacture next-generation secure embedded controllers that keep power, telecommunications, and energy systems connected and resilient. The Role On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to take technical ownership of their core embedded platform. Working across the entire software stack from bootloaders up to Linux services—you will lead board bring-up, shape product architecture, and build high-uptime systems for field deployment.
Key Responsibilities
System Architecture: Design secure, maintainable embedded software using Yocto/OpenEmbedded, U-Boot, and OTA mechanisms like RAUC.
Hardware & Stack Integration: Collaborate with hardware teams on board bring-up, peripheral configuration (UART, SPI, I²C, GPIO), and device drivers.
Protocol Implementation: Develop interfaces for industrial and IoT protocols, including Modbus, CAN bus, SNMP, MQTT, and TCP/IP.
Technical Leadership: Guide engineering standards, support CI/CD workflows, and mentor junior embedded engineers.
What Our Client Is Looking For
Embedded Linux: Solid expertise with Yocto, OpenEmbedded, U-Boot, and secure OTA update systems.
Core Languages: Advanced proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
Platform Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Linux device model, device trees, and hardware interfaces.
System Reliability: Experience engineering self-recovering, high-uptime systems deployed in remote environments.
Desirable Skills
Exposure to RTOS, microcontrollers, or reading hardware schematics.
Background in industrial control systems, IoT platforms, or energy/power systems.
