System Engineer – Nixil Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

This will be an Office based role in Canberra.
n
ITAR – You will be required to comply with the US International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) as the candidate may need to handle export‐controlled ICT (hardware and software) products.
n

Key Responsibilities:

n

n
Develop and execute detailed project plans for Navy platforms, ensuring alignment with key stakeholder requirements.
n
Build and maintain solid, transparent relationships with stakeholders, including NSG‐SPO, ISSC, NI&IWB;, and more.
n
Facilitate the approval process for Request for Problem Resolution (RPR) and support project deployment planning.
n
Collaborate closely with Installation and Engineering Managers to meet project timelines and deliverables.
n
Identify and mitigate engineering risks while providing strategic, specialist advice.




n
Develop engineering control processes and project documentation.
n
Prepare and manage project costs, including conducting due diligence on contractor quotes.
n

n

Must have Required Skills and Experience:

n

n
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification.
n
Proven experience as a Systems Engineer within Defence, particularly with Navy Platforms.
n
Familiarity with Navy AD514 Engineering processes.
n
Robust analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
n
Experience in planning and executing technical project delivery.
n
Previous experience in the Defence Maritime Setting.
n
Knowledge of Defence Capability Lifecycle Projects.
n
Experience with SEA2273 and working with Ship Class SPOs and ISSCs.
n
Background in Military, APS, or Defence contracting.
n
