HEAD CHEF - THE CRICKETERS - PORT MELBOURNE

You know pubs? - because we know pubs! The Cricketers is looking for a Gun Head Chef to take the reins and lead the team as we continue to go from strength to strength.

The Cricketers is a true ‘local pub’ – and as such we are consistently serving up great pub food to our locals and beyond.

Maybe you're a Sous chef ready for your first Head role - or a Head Chef ready to make a move into the more relaxed world of pub cooking.

As the Head Chef you will be at the forefront of delivering consistent and delicious pub food. You will manage your kitchen team, be all over your food costings, and train & nurture your team.

What you'll be doing
Develop and implement creative and seasonal menus that showcase your culinary expertise and cater to the diverse tastes of our customers
Manage and lead a team of chefs, providing guidance, mentorship and ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation
Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, including inventory management, cost control, and adherence to health and safety regulations
Collaborate with the management team to continuously improve the dining experience and identify opportunities for growth and innovation




Foster a positive and productive kitchen workplace that encourages teamwork, creativity, and a commitment to excellence

What we're looking for
Extensive experience as a Head or Sous Chef, or in a similar senior role, preferably in a busy pub or restaurant environment
Exceptional culinary skills with a deep understanding of various cooking techniques and a passion for using fresh, seasonal ingredients
Robust leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities to handle the demands of a fast-paced kitchen workplace
Thorough knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as experience in inventory management and cost control
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the management team and front-of-house staff
