Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of Italian and Australian-style dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s menu and recipes.
Prepare pizzas, burgers, chicken dishes, seafood, pasta, starters, salads, sides and other menu items.
Prepare ingredients including meat, poultry, seafood and vegetables by cutting, marinating, portioning and seasoning.
Ensure food is cooked to the required standards, with appropriate taste, quality, portion size and presentation.
Assist with menu planning, developing recent dishes and preparing daily specials using fresh and seasonal ingredients.
Monitor food stock,



assist with ordering supplies and ensure proper storage of food and ingredients.
Coordinate kitchen preparation and cooking during busy service periods to ensure orders are completed efficiently.
Supervise and guide kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking methods, portion control and presentation.
Monitor food wastage and assist with maintaining productive food and kitchen costs.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety throughout the kitchen.
Ensure kitchen equipment, utensils and preparation areas are properly cleaned and maintained.
Follow all relevant food safety, workplace health and safety and restaurant procedures.

Skill & Experience The successful applicant must hold a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and have at least one year of relevant experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen or restaurant.
