Assistant Accountant

Mascot, NSW | $75,000 - $85,000 Super | Full-Time

We're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join a small and supportive finance team based in Mascot. This is a hands-on role covering a broad range of transactional finance responsibilities across both Australian and New Zealand accounts.

What's involved?

Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance team, your responsibilities will include:
AP & AR processing and reconciliations
Invoice, expense and credit card processing
Fortnightly payment runs and payroll support
Customer payments, statements and debtors
Supplier and customer queries
Bank reconciliations
Intercompany transactions
Month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
Fixed asset register maintenance
P&L; support and reporting
General finance administration
Ad hoc tasks and process improvements

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with previous experience in a transactional finance or Assistant Accountant position who enjoys working across AP,



AR and general ledger functions.

You'll ideally bring
A good understanding of transactional finance and accounting terminology
Previous experience across AP and/or AR
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
Robust attention to detail and accuracy
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem-solving abilities
The ability to prioritise and manage your own workload
The ability to work calmly and accurately in a rapid-paced environment

The role involves supporting New Zealand accounts, including payroll, as well as providing assistance across Australian accounts.

$75,000 - $85,000 Super
MON - FRI - 38 hours per week
Flexible start times
Ideally office-based 5 days per week, however there is some flexibility for the right person
Birthday leave
Broad role with exposure across AP, AR, payroll and general ledger
