Job Description

We are seeking a energetic and experienced individual to join our team as a VIT Registered Primary Islamic Studies Teacher/Primary College Imam.

n

Skills required

A passion for teaching and student learning
n
Excellent organisational and behavioural management skills
n
Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with difficult situations.
n
Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students
n
Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.

Indicate their experience, qualifications, qualities and attributes expected from them.

The role of the teacher may include but is not limited to:

n

n
Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;
n
Contributing to the development,



implementation and evaluation of curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;
n
Undertaking other classroom teaching and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;
n
Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions
n

The role of the College Imam includes:

n

n
Leading and overseeing the delivery of daily prayers, Friday sermons, and other Islamic religious activities across the College.
n
Training and mentoring staff and students in the leadership and management of prayers, sermons, and Islamic ceremonies.
n
Developing and delivering engaging Islamic programs during and after school hours that foster Islamic knowledge, character, and leadership.
n
Inspiring students to embody Islamic values, etiquette, and exemplary manners in accordance with the Sunnah and the teachings of the Qur'an.
n
Providing Islamic guidance, counselling, and pastoral support to students on matters of faith and personal development.
n
Encouraging students to strengthen their relationship with Allah through the practical application of Islamic teachings in their daily lives.
