Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) Canberra is looking for dedicated Animal Attendants to join our expanding team! This is a Full time role, 6:30am to 2:30pm.

As an Animal Attendant, you will play a critical role in the wellbeing of hospitalised patients we care for. You will be there to provide comfort and the basic necessities - food and water, walks, a clean bed, etc. as well as to support our incredibly hardworking team keeping the hospital sparkling clean and well stocked. Our animal attendant team are greatly valued and are an integral part of the success of the day to day running of our hospital!
Please note that this is a support and cleaning-based role with minimal animal handling.
Your duties will include:
Cage cleaning and re-setting
Walking, feeding, and watering inpatients and boarding animals
Maintaining cleanliness of hospital areas, including floors/bins/surfaces, throughout the day as required
Assisting with patient handling and monitoring under staff direction
Daily laundry/dishes upkeep
Restocking consumables throughout the hospital

To be successful in this role, you will be:
Passionate about animals and committed to their wellbeing
Experience in an animal hospital, shelter, boarding facility, or similar environment
A team player with excellent communication skills
Reliable, punctual, and ready to roll up your sleeves
Someone who takes pride in high standards of cleanliness and care, with attention to detail
A Certificate II or III in Animal Studies (or currently studying) will be highly regarded but what matters most is your attitude, empathy, and willingness to learn!
