Motion Recruitment is looking for a talented FPGA / Embedded Systems Engineer to join a leading engineering organisation. This hands‐on, technically challenging role involves high‐performance digital systems combining FPGA, ARM‐based embedded software, and RF/digital signal processing technologies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Design, implement, and verify FPGA-based systems for advanced electronic applications.
n
Develop embedded software and firmware for ARM processors integrated with FPGA solutions.
n
Apply knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) and RF principles in FPGA designs.
n
Simulate, prototype, and test FPGA designs using industry‐standard tools.
n
Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and systems engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
n
Troubleshoot and optimise FPGA and embedded system performance.
n
Produce transparent technical documentation, design specifications, and test procedures.
n
Contribute to engineering best practices, process improvements, and innovation initiatives.
n

Qualifications

n

n
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
n




Solid FPGA development experience (VHDL or Verilog) with a solid understanding of digital design principles.
n
Hands‐on experience with embedded ARM‐based systems and integration with FPGAs.
n
Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP) and radio frequency (RF) concepts.
n
Experience with Matlab or other simulation tools is highly desirable.
n
Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in technical teams.

Excellent communication skills and ability to document work clearly.

Embedded C/C++ development experience for ARM processors.
n
FPGA design verification and testing experience.

Knowledge of communication systems and hardware/software co‐design.

Familiarity with Agile development practices.
