Qualifications and Experience

n

n
Wants to further a career in veterinary nursing
n
Has completed a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or a Vet Tech Degree
n
At least three years of nursing experience within a busy GP clinic
n
Experience within a referral hospital is ideal
n
Passion for surgery
n
Enthusiastic, honest, with high standards and attention to detail
n
Ability to work in a fast‐paced setting, both independently and as part of a team
n
Exceptional time‐management and organisational skills
n
Knowledge of Rx Works / Smart Flow is highly regarded (not essential)
n

Key Duties and Responsibilities

n

n
Surgery patient treatments and care
n
Patient recovery and monitoring
n
IV catheter placement and fluid therapy
n
Blood collection and in‐house laboratory use
n
Cleaning and autoclaving of surgical instruments and specialised equipment
n
Specialist surgical and theatre nursing
n
Anaesthesia
n
Radiology, including CT and MRI imaging
n
