As an RFDS Aeromedical Pilot, you'll be an integral member of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, combining aviation excellence with a genuine purpose.
Every flight presents a unique challenge and an opportunity to make a real difference.Our FleetRFDS Queensland operates a fleet of 25 aircraft, including:16 Beechcraft King Air B200s4 King Air B350CHWs5 King Air B360sThe RFDS (Queensland Section) delivers essential aeromedical, primary healthcare and 24/7 telehealth services across regional, rural and remote Queensland.
Our multidisciplinary teams provide critical care through emergency retrievals, primary health clinics, mental health services, mobile dental programs and virtual care solutions.
As we approach 100 years of service, we're continuing to evolve and expand our reach, making this an exciting opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation that makes a real difference every day.Each year, our pilots fly thousands of taskings, connecting Queenslanders with critical healthcare and emergency retrieval services across some of Australia's most remote locations.Our roleLocated at our RFDS Rockhampton Base, you will support our Aeromedical team with emergency retrievals and interfacility transfers.
This role is a permanent, full-time role working 14 shifts per 28 days.
Our roster is a mix of both day and night shifts Monday to Sunday.What You'll DoAs part of the Rockhampton team,



you will:Operate RFDS aircraft safely and in accordance with company procedures and aviation regulationsPrepare aircraft for flight, including refuelling and replenishment of oxygen suppliesSupport healthcare teams with patient and equipment transfersAssist with loading and unloading patients, stretchers and medical equipmentComplete operational and regulatory documentationMaintain operational knowledge, systems and base recordsContribute to a strong safety and teamwork cultureAbout YouWe're looking for capable, qualified pilots who enjoy working as part of a team and are committed to supporting remote communities.You will hold:Current Instrument Rating- Multi Engine Aircraft with four or more renewalsCurrent Australian ATPL / CPLCurrent Class 1 Aviation Medical**** hours flying time in total**** hours as Pilot in Command**** hours as Pilot in Command of Multi-engine aircraft200 hours as Pilot in Command at night200 hours instrument timeTurbine experienceRecent single-pilot flying experience within the last 2 to 5 years (highly desirable)Australian citizenship, permanent residency or valid working rightsYou will also have:Strong situational awareness and decision-making skillsThe ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary teamPhysical capacity to assist with patient and equipment handling when requiredThe ability to obtain and maintain a Blue Card (Working with Children Check)Why Join RFDS?
