The Cadet Building Surveyor supports Council's building certification and public health functions while learning the legislative, technical, and administrative aspects of building surveying.
The position provides hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced officers within the Development Services team.
As a Cadet Building Surveyor, you will combine on the job experience with formal studies to develop the skills and qualifications required for a career in building surveying.
You will undertake an Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying which is delivered online and is self-paced.
You will have dedicated study time as part of your 35-hour week.
This is a temporary 3 year appointment, with the possibility of transitioning to a full time position on the completion of your qualification.

About You
This position is for a motivated and enthusiastic individual looking to build a career in building surveying and local government.
You have an interest in the construction industry, enjoy learning new skills, and are committed to completing your Building Surveying qualification while gaining practical experience.
You are a strong communicator who works well with others, provides excellent customer service, and can confidently interact with members of the public, contractors, and colleagues.
You are organised, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Remuneration
The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award **** and Cabonne Council's policies and conditions of employment.
This position is graded T5-T10 in accordance with the award.
The gross weekly wage range is $****** - $******* dependant on skills and experience.
