Job Description

Coordinate import operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.
n
Prepare and review shipping documents, including invoices and customs declarations.
n
Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport providers to ensure smooth delivery of goods.
n
Monitor shipment schedules and address any delays or discrepancies promptly.
n
Maintain accurate records of import transactions and provide regular reporting to management.
n
Communicate with clients to provide updates on shipment status and resolve any queries.
n
Assist in process improvements to enhance operational efficiency within the logistics department.
n
Ensure adherence to company policies and industry standards at all times.

The Successful Applicant
n
A successful Import Operations Officer should have:

Previous experience in import operations or a related logistics role.
n
Robust knowledge of customs regulations and shipping documentation requirements.
n
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
n
Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.

A proactive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure.

Familiarity with the transport & distribution industry is highly regarded.
