Job Description
The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of Council services while working towards a recognised qualification - Certificate III in Civil Construction - RII***** - and developing safe work practices.This is a valuable qualification, recognised in all parts of Australia, and could lead to a number of different career pathways.
Operational Duties
* Assist with road maintenance and construction activities
* Assist with drainage maintenance and repairs
* Participate in parks, reserve and open space maintenance activities
* Undertake labouring duties as directed
* Assist with traffic management activities where appropriately trained
* Operate hand tools and small plant under supervision
* Assist with depot housekeeping and maintenance of equipment
* Support waste management and asset maintenance operations as required
* Undertake basic manual handling and physical tasks associated with outdoor work
What would this involve?
* You would be employed by Work & Training for the duration of your training contract, & hosted to the Tasman Council.




* Full time hours.
* Full entitlements including four weeks of holidays per year.
* You would receive mentoring and support throughout the traineeship from a Work & Training Apprentice & Employment Consultant.
* Your workplace supervisors would provide daily coaching and chance for growth., * Suitable applicants will be contacted for an initial discussion regarding this traineeship.
* You may be asked to complete aptitude testing, or other documentation.
* The third stage of recruitment involves a face-to-face interview with the host employer.
* If you are the successful applicant, you will complete employment documents, a training contract, and a start date will be arranged!
