Responsibilities

Inspecting, repairing and servicing the cargo movement and handling equipment;
n
Maintenance of cable drum brakes, wheel bearings, conveyor roller beds, and chassis turntables;
n
Welding.

About You
n
As a Fitter, we would ask you bring the following skills and experience:
n
n
A basic understanding of straightforward mechanical systems;
n
Practical experience with mechanical systems gained through previous employment, education, or relevant hobbies/interests;
n
Confident with hands‐on, practical tasks;
n
Entry‐level (Level 2) English literacy skills;
n
Ability to perform effectively under pressure;
n
A proactive and motivated approach to learning in a hands‐on setting;
n
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team;
n
Experience with welding is also desirable.

Additional Requirements
n
The successful candidate will be required to undertake security vetting, which includes a criminal records check and the provision of five years' continuous education and/or employment references.
