Pund and Associates is seeking aTaxation Accountantto join our dynamic team in Sale, VIC.
This is afull-time or part time positionoffering a fantastic prospect to develop your expertise in taxation whilst providing essential support to our clients.
As a Taxation Accountant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services, ensuring our clients remain tax-compliant and optimise their tax positions.
This position is based in our Sale office and offers the chance to work with a diverse client base across various industries.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and lodge tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies and superannuation funds in compliance with Australian Taxation Office requirements
Conduct tax planning reviews and provide strategic advice to clients on minimising their tax liabilities
Maintain and update client tax records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all tax documentation
Perform tax reconciliations and identify discrepancies requiring follow-up or clarification
Research complex tax issues and stay updated on changes in tax legislation and rulings
Liaise with clients to gather necessary financial information and supporting documentation
Prepare tax adjustments and correspondence with tax authorities where required
Assist with quarterly and annual compliance reporting obligations
Contribute to the development of tax strategies and solutions tailored to client circumstances
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
What we're looking for
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
3+ years of experience in a taxation or accounting role, preferably within a professional practice environment
Solid knowledge of Australian taxation law, including income tax, GST, and superannuation




Proficiency with tax software and accounting packages (such as MYOB, Xero, Quickbooks or similar platforms)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when managing complex tax calculations and documentation
Strong communication skills, capable of explaining tax concepts clearly to clients of varying backgrounds
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines, particularly during peak tax seasonsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Current or working towards membership with CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or willing to undertake
A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organisational skills
