We're partnering with a leading national retailer to recruit aPeople Advisorto join their Shared Services team on a6-month fixed-term contractduring a busy peak period.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to break into HR and gain valuable experience within a large, high-volume People & Culture environment.
You don't need previous HR experience for this role — we're particularly interested in candidates from customer service, call centre, administration or contact centre backgrounds who are confident communicating with people, solving problems and are keen to build a career in HR.
About the Role
You'll join a specialist Shared Services team, providing support to team members across a range of HR-related enquiries.
You'll be the first point of contact for employees, helping resolve queries relating to pay, systems, benefits, recruitment and general employee administration.
This is a highly customer-focused role where your ability to listen, communicate clearly, problem-solve and provide a positive employee experience will be key.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to team member enquiries via web-based channels
Assist with pay-impacting issues and employee administration queries
Support team members with system navigation and troubleshooting
Provide information relating to employee benefits and recruitment processes
Make outbound calls when required to investigate or resolve enquiries
Maintain accurate records and update internal systems
Provide a professional and positive experience to every team member
Work collaboratively within a high-volume shared services environment
About You




We're open to candidates from a range of backgrounds.
Previous HR experience is not essential.
You could be a great fit if you have experience in:
Customer service or call centre environments
Contact centre or customer support roles
Administration or shared services
Retail or high-volume customer-facing environments
Entry-level HR or People & Culture roles
Most importantly, you'll have:
Strong communication skills and a genuine customer-first approach
Confidence speaking with people and handling a range of enquiries
Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly
A positive, proactive and solutions-focused approach
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to remain calm and professional in a quick-paced environment
A genuine interest in developing your career and gaining exposure to HR
Role Details
6-month fixed-term contract
Location:Eight Mile Plains
Training:4-week full-time onboarding, in office
Hybrid working:Minimum 2 days per week in office once training is completed
Roster:Monday-Friday, between 6:30am-5:30pm
