Job Description
The organisation
Calvary is a not-for-profit Catholic healthcare organisation dedicated to providing compassionate care to the most vulnerable in our communities.

The opportunity
Reporting to the Regional Chief Operations Officer, the General Manager will lead Calvary Riverina Hospital, a 165-bed private hospital delivering acute surgical and medical care, maternity, intensive and coronary care, palliative care, rehabilitation and specialist drug and alcohol services.
As the hospital celebrates 100 years of care in the Riverina, the General Manager will provide the visible, consistent leadership required to build confidence across its workforce, medical community and region.
Accountable for clinical, operational and financial performance, the role will strengthen capability, grow sustainable activity and position the hospital for its next chapter.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading and developing the hospital executive team, establishing clear expectations and fostering a team-oriented, accountable culture
Building an engaged workforce and supporting leadership capability, performance and succession across the hospital
Delivering agreed financial, workforce,



service and operational objectives
Strengthening engagement and productive partnerships with Visiting Medical Officers and other key stakeholders
Developing contemporary service models and identifying sustainable growth opportunities that respond to community demand
Ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality and patient-centred care
Partnering effectively with Calvary colleagues to draw on broader organisational capability and support
Representing Calvary with government, the local public health system, primary health networks, the Catholic Diocese and the broader community.
This is a significant opportunity to lead an established regional private hospital and shape the continued development of Calvary's services across the Riverina.
About you
You are an experienced healthcare executive who understands that leadership in a regional community is built through visibility, credibility and follow-through.
You bring the emotional intelligence to listen and understand local context, together with the judgement and decisiveness to translate that understanding into action.
You combine strong commercial and operational acumen with exemplary people leadership.
You can establish a clear direction,



develop leadership capability and build the medical and organisational partnerships required to improve performance and support sustainable growth.
You will bring:
Senior executive leadership experience within a private hospital or similarly complex healthcare services environment
Robust financial, commercial and strategic management capability
Demonstrated success improving organisational performance, developing services and identifying growth opportunities
Experience leading organisational change and building capable, engaged leadership teams
Credibility with Visiting Medical Officers and other senior healthcare stakeholders
Highly developed emotional intelligence, communication and relationship management skills
An understanding of regional healthcare environments and the ability to engage effectively with government, health system, community and faith-based stakeholders
A genuine commitment to Calvary's mission, values and strategic direction
