About the role
We are seeking an experiencedSenior Facilities & Building Managerto join our team at M1 Building Management Pty Ltd inPenrith NSW ****.
This is afull-time positionoffering a unique opportunity to lead and oversee the efficient operation of building facilities and services across multiple properties or a portfolio of significant sites.
In this strategic role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of building operations, maintenance, compliance, and service delivery, whilst ensuring optimal performance and tenant satisfaction.
You will play a pivotal role in upholding our reputation for excellence and driving continuous improvement across our facilities management operations.
Key responsibilities
Oversee and manage all day-to-day building operations, maintenance schedules, and preventative maintenance programmes
Supervise and coordinate facilities management staff, contractors, and service providers to ensure efficient service delivery
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards including Work Health and Safety requirements, building codes, and environmental regulations
Manage building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, and access control systems to ensure optimal functionality
Prepare and manage facilities budgets, monitor expenditure, and identify cost‐saving opportunities without compromising quality
Conduct regular inspections and audits of building facilities to identify maintenance issues and ensure standards are maintained
Liaise with tenants, property owners, and stakeholders to address concerns, respond to requests, and maintain strong working relationships
Coordinate emergency response procedures and ensure business continuity planning measures are in place
Maintain comprehensive records and documentation related to maintenance, compliance, incidents, and service performance
Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies to create a secure workplace for all building occupants
Develop and implement improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality
What we're looking for
Minimum 5–7 years' experience in facilities management or building management roles, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or supervisory capacity
Proven experience managing large residential or mixed-use properties with responsibility for multiple building systems and contractors
Strong knowledge of building codes, compliance requirements, and Work Health and Safety legislation applicable to Recent South Wales
Proficiency in facilities management software and systems, as well as strong IT skills
Excellent leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop staff
Demonstrated budgeting and financial management experience with ability to control costs whilst maintaining service standards
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
Problem‐solving ability and sound decision‐making skills, particularly in managing complex operational challenges
Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy efficiency in building management
Current driver's licence is essential
Physical fitness and ability to carry out inspections and site visits
