An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Licensed Conveyancer to join our Newcastle office.
Working as part of our established Property & Developments team, you will manage a varied conveyancing practice, acting on residential and commercial property transactions from instruction through to settlement.
This role will suit a proactive and client-focused conveyancer who enjoys managing matters autonomously while working closely with Partners, lawyers and support staff in a collaborative workplace.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Preparing, reviewing and advising on contracts for sale, transfers, easements, mortgages and other conveyancing documents
Conducting title, council, planning and other property-related searches and enquiries
Managing electronic settlements through the PEXA platform
Preparing and lodging documents with NSW Land Registry Services and other relevant authorities
Processing duties and transfer transactions through Revenue NSW
Liaising with clients, real estate agents, lenders, brokers and other stakeholders throughout the conveyancing process
Ensuring critical deadlines are met
Managing settlement deadlines, settlement figures, adjustments and related correspondence
Ensuring registration of dealings
Identifying and resolving issues that may impact transactions and settlement timeframes
Maintaining accurate file records and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation and practice requirements
Ensuring compliance with:Conveyancers Licensing Act **** (NSW)
Conveyancers Licensing Regulation
Real Property Act **** (NSW)
Duties Act **** (NSW)
Electronic Conveyancing National Law
Verification of Identity requirements
Client Authorisation requirements
Trust account obligations (where applicable)
Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing obligations (when applicable)




Professional Conduct Rules and ethical obligations
Privacy legislation

About you
While our ideal candidate would be a Licensed Conveyancer, we are also open to considering applications from experienced Conveyancing Paralegals.
We would love to hear from professionals with the following skills, experience, and attributes:
Strong working knowledge of NSW conveyancing procedures and property transactions
Demonstrated experience using PEXA to manage electronic settlements
Sound understanding of Revenue NSW requirements, including duty and transfer processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organisational and file management skills with the demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
A professional, client-focused approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality service
