For over seven years, White Picket Fence has been a beloved, beachside brunch destination on the Sunshine Coast. We serve all‑day brunch to a blend of eager tourists and friendly locals, delivering creative, seasonal dishes in a relaxed, coastal setting.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook high-quality breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes in line with café standards
Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menus and innovate new recipes using local, sustainable produce
Oversee all kitchen operations: food preparation, plating, presentation and quality control
Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene standards and allergen procedures
Manage kitchen inventory, place orders and implement waste-minimisation strategies
Train & mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team culture
Maintain composure and high standards in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment
Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Chef in a café or casual-dining kitchen
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualification
In-depth knowledge of food safety,
hygiene regulations and protected work practices
Proven ability to multi-task, problem-solve and deliver under pressure
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented, hands-on leadership style
Availability to work weekends and public holidays, with flexibility during peak seasons
