About the Role

The construction arm of a nationally recognised retail organisation is seeking an experienced and hands-on Handyman to join our Queensland-based team. This division manages ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and fit-out projects across the company's retail network.

ABN Engagement: $40 - $50 per hour + GST

n

This is a hands-on and varied role ideal for a jack-of-all-trades with a strong practical mindset. The Handyman will carry out day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and light construction or fit-out tasks across multiple retail and warehouse sites. The position can be offered as a full-time role or structured under your own ABN for greater flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across retail and warehouse sites
n
Carry out basic carpentry, painting, plastering, welding, and minor plumbing or electrical tasks (where licensed)
n
Assist with recent store fit-outs, refurbishments, and layout modifications
n
Install shelves, fixtures, and signage as required
n
Coordinate and oversee subcontractors on smaller projects
n
Maintain tools, vehicles, and ensure work areas meet safety and quality standards
n




Provide practical onsite solutions and communicate effectively with internal teams
n
Travel across multiple retail and warehouse sites throughout Queensland as required
n

Skills and Experience

n

n
Proven experience as a Handyman, Maintenance Technician, or similar role
n
Broad trade knowledge (carpentry, painting, welding, roofing, tiling, or general repairs)
n
Solid practical skills and ability to complete varied hands‐on tasks
n
Physically fit, reliable, and able to work independently
n
Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport essential
n
Trade qualification (carpentry, joinery, or general maintenance) desirable
n
Sound problem‐solving ability and attention to detail
n
