We're looking for an experiencedJava / API Developerto join a major enterprise transformation program, building high-volume, mission-critical integration services that support millions of customer interactions.
This is ahighly hands‐on development rolesuited to an engineer who enjoys spending the majority of their time designing, coding, testing and delivering production‐grade Java applications.
You'll work within an experienced Agile engineering team usingJava, Spring Boot, AWS, Kubernetes and Kafkato build modern APIs, microservices and event‐driven applications at enterprise scale.
About the Role
As a Java / API Developer, you'll be responsible for the hands‐on development and delivery of enterprise integration services.
You'll take solution designs and requirements through to working production code, developing new services and APIs, enhancing existing applications, troubleshooting technical issues and contributing to the ongoing improvement of the platform.
This role will particularly suit someone who istechnically strong, still actively coding and wants to remain hands‐on rather than move into a purely architecture position.
Key Responsibilities
Hands‐on development ofJava and Spring Boot microservices
Design, build and maintain secure, scalableREST APIs
Develop enterprise integration and event‐driven services usingApache Kafka
Write clean, maintainable and production‐ready Java code
Build and deploy cloud‐native applications acrossAWS and Kubernetes (EKS)
Develop automated unit,



integration and API tests
Debug and troubleshoot complex application and production issues
Optimise application performance, reliability and scalability
Work withDocker, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
Participate in code reviews, pair programming and technical problem‐solving
Work closely with Solution Architects and other developers to translate designs into working software
Contribute to engineering standards and development best practices
Skills & Experience
We're looking for a strong hands‐on developer with commercial experience across many of the following:

Spring Boot
Microservices
AWS
Event‐driven architecture
Docker and containerisation
Automated testing
Distributed systems
Performance optimisation
Most importantly, you'll be someone who iscomfortable getting into the code and building complex backend services, rather than operating primarily at an architecture or management level.
