Job Description
The Role
n We are seeking a Workshop Technician to join our State Government client based in Toowoomba. This is a casual full-time chance through to September, with the potential for extension.
n
The role supports the production and fit-out of mobile response trailers through hands-on workshop work, equipment installation, basic low-voltage wiring, painting, and general maintenance activities.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Assist with the assembly, modification, and fit-out of mobile response trailers.
n
Perform basic fabrication tasks such as measuring, cutting, drilling, and assembling components.
n
Carry out painting and finishing work on trailers and related equipment.
n
Complete low-voltage wiring, basic electronic tasks, and equipment installations.
n
Operate workshop equipment and hand tools, including grinders, saws, drill presses, and other general workshop machinery.
n
Conduct general workshop maintenance and housekeeping duties.
n
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
n
Support other workshop activities as required.
n

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
Experience in a workshop, maintenance, assembly, or trade assistant workplace.
n
Exposure to basic fabrication, mechanical assembly, or maintenance tasks.
n
Experience using hand tools and workshop machinery.
n
Basic low-voltage wiring or electrical installation experience is desirable.
n
Solid commitment to workplace safety and attention to detail.
n
A current C-Class Driver Licence.
