The Opportunity
This is a 12-month parental leave contract supporting a varied portfolio of approximately 250 employees across corporate and operational functions.
Working closely with senior leaders, you will provide practical and commercially focused People & Culture advice across finance, technology, legal, risk, marketing and selected construction teams.
The portfolio includes teams at different stages of growth and maturity, creating plenty of variety across employee relations, performance, engagement, workforce planning and broader people initiatives.
This is an opportunity to step into an established portfolio, build trusted stakeholder relationships and play an significant role in keeping key people priorities moving across the business.
Partner with senior leaders to provide practical and commercially considered People & Culture advice
Manage employee relations matters, including performance concerns, conflict resolution, disciplinary processes and employment exits
Support leaders through performance and remuneration review cycles
Deliver engagement initiatives informed by employee feedback, survey results and people trends
Provide insights and reporting to support workforce planning and business decision‐making
Support talent identification, succession planning, reward and recognition, and employee induction processes
Ensure people practices remain compliant with relevant legislation and responsive to business needs
Work collaboratively with the national People & Culture team to deliver consistent support across locations
Support both office‐based and site‐based employee groups
Travel occasionally to the ACT to build relationships and provide face‐to‐face support
The role will receive support from a People & Culture Coordinator, although it will not carry direct people leadership responsibility during the contract.
About You
This opportunity will suit an experienced People & Culture Business Partner or Manager who enjoys being close to the business and is comfortable working across a broad operational remit.
A strong foundation in employee relations and performance management will be essential, along with the confidence to advise senior stakeholders and navigate complex or sensitive matters with sound judgement.
Experience supporting both corporate and operational, site‐based or project‐based employee groups would be highly regarded.
Backgrounds across construction, resources, manufacturing, engineering or similarly fast‐moving environments are also likely to translate well.
The role is ideal for someone who is practical, adaptable and confident stepping into an established portfolio, building relationships quickly and delivering trusted support from day one!
