Job Description
My client is an Australian technology company developing advanced software-driven systems for complex real-world applications.
As they continue to expand, they are seeking a Software Integration Engineer to join a highly collaborative engineering team responsible for delivering innovative software solutions from development through to deployment.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in developing and integrating software within a complex, multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Working closely with Software, Systems, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, you'll help deliver reliable, high-performance solutions that are deployed into customer applications.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing high-quality software using C/C++ within Linux-based environments.
Designing, integrating and validating software across complex hardware and software platforms.
Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
Debugging, testing and optimising software to ensure reliability and performance.
Supporting system integration activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
Contributing to software architecture, technical problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assisting with deployment, commissioning and technical support activities when required.
Working within Agile development methodologies and contributing to engineering best practice.
Your Background
To be successful in this role,



you will possess:
A degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or a related discipline.
At least 3 years' experience developing software within an embedded or systems engineering setting.
Strong programming skills in C/C++.
Experience developing software within Linux environments.
Experience using Git or other version control systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical engineering solutions.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:
Embedded software or systems integration.
Robotics, industrial automation, automotive, aerospace or other advanced technology industries.
Communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, SPI or I2C.
Python, Docker, ROS/ROS2 or MATLAB/Simulink.
Working with complex electro-mechanical products or intelligent systems.
Customer-facing integration, commissioning or field support.
