Position Summary
To provide technical expertise to manufacturing and sales in support of existing PMC products and to use this expertise to help develop and introduce new products where appropriate.
Drive quality improvement plans so as to improve efficiency and lower costs.
Responsibilities
Preparation of tint moves and color matches
Colour formula database maintenance
Supply PDS and SDS to Sales teams
Provision of COA's from PPG or overseas plants
Develop, formulate and test new products
Under guidance or supervision, analyze and resolve product and application problems
Under guidance and supervision, maintain and improve existing products
Providing technical advice to sales, marketing and customers
Producing sales aids
Conducting product demonstrations for customers
Planning and conducting field trials
Evaluation of competitive products
Conducting testing and verification of alternate sources of raw materials.
Reduction of formula process times
Achieving product quality at minimum cost

Valuable understanding of paint technology
Good knowledge of the manufacturing process

Training & Experience
Bachelor of Science or equivalent with a chemistry major (Scientific knowledge gained on the job (12 years) can replace a formal qualification)
1-3 years' experience in the surface coatings industry gained in product development and technical service
