Federation Children are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Cook to join our Geelong West team; someone who is committed to ensuring children have healthy, nutritious meals and develop healthy eating habits through positive food experiences.

In this role, you will:

n

n
work in partnership with families in meeting all children's dietary requirements
n
provide healthy and nutritious snacks and meals for children
n
maintain the environment in line with Federation Children's Food Safety Program
n
co-ordinate the purchasing and ordering of supplies to reflect the menu; and
n
prepare meals for large groups of children
n
work as a part of a team, supporting and contributing to Federation Children as a community in line with Federation Children's Philosophy and Code of Ethics
n
Catering for children with allergies and additional needs
n
Understanding of the National Quality Standard healthy eating and physical activity are promoted and appropriate for each child.

Responsibilities:

n

n
Monday to Friday
n
Menu planning, supplies ordering and budgeting
n
Upkeep and cleaning of kitchen facilities and equipment
n
Implement rotational menus
n




Ensure that all meals prepared meet the special dietary needs of the children with allergies & cultural preferences
n
Ensure secure and hygienic storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks
n
Maintain positive customer relations with families and children
n
Working with Children Check must be current and valid before starting the position
n
Relevant food handling certificates
n
Food handling certificates must be obtained and current before commencing employment
n
A friendly and positive attitude
n
Experience and passion for creating healthy children's meals
n
Excellent time management and verbal communication skills
n
Experience working in a child care setting will be highly regarded, however not necessary
n
Cert 3 in childcare is desirable but not essential
n
