About the Role
Are you a qualified electrician looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to enter the fire protection industry?
Total Fire Solutions is seeking motivated and reliable Electricians to join our Contracts Project Division based in Heatherbrae.
No previous fire industry experience is required.
We are looking for individuals with a strong electrical background who are eager to learn and develop a long term career in the fire protection sector.
Working alongside experienced fire industry professionals, you will receive training and support to develop your skills in the installation, testing and commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems across commercial, industrial and mining projects.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to diversify your skills, work on a variety of interesting projects and build a rewarding career in a highly specialised and essential industry.
The role is a Monday to Friday position, working a minimum of 8 hours per day and accruing a monthly RDO.
Key Responsibilities
Install fire detection and alarm systems across commercial, industrial and mining sites
Install and terminate fire alarm cabling
Install smoke, heat,
beam and aspirating smoke detection systems including VESDA
Install EWIS, occupant warning systems and emergency communication systems
Carry out fault finding and troubleshooting on fire systems
Read and interpret drawings, schematics and technical documentation
Complete testing and commissioning activities
Maintain accurate service reports and installation records
Work safely in accordance with WHS requirements and site procedures
Liaise with clients, supervisors and project teams on site
Participate in mine site and industrial shutdown projects as required

Skills and Qualifications
Current Electrical Licence
Strong understanding of electrical installations and fault finding
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
Excellent problem solving and communication skills
Strong commitment to workplace safety
Current Driver Licence
White Card
Highly Regarded but Not Essential
Previous exposure to commercial, industrial or mining environments
Experience with communications, control systems or low voltage installations
Working at Heights and EWP licences
Interest in developing a career in the fire protection industry
