National Civil & Foundations Pty Ltd – Oaklands Junction VIC
National Civil & Foundations (NCF) | Oaklands Junction, VIC
About NCF
National Civil & Foundations (NCF) is a well-established civil construction company delivering excavation, retention, piling, infrastructure and cartage solutions to some of Australia's most successful and regarded builders.
From bulk and detail excavation through to bored piles, CFA piles, ground anchors and rock drilling, NCF completes multiple work packages in-house rather than splitting projects across numerous trades — backed by an in-house structural engineering team and a fleet of excavators ranging from 5 to 49 tonne, piling rigs and specialist plant.
NCF has delivered projects for major clients including Built, Hickory, Hutchinson Builders, Kapitol Group, BESIX, Fulton Hogan, Downer, Symal, John Holland and CPB Contractors, across both private construction and infrastructure sectors — including rail occupation, level crossing removal and VicTrack-accredited piling works.
Safety, quality and environmental performance are core to how NCF operates, underpinned by ISO *****-aligned environmental management and a strong track record of incident-free project delivery.
About the Role
NCF is looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to take ownership of our plant, equipment and vehicle fleet, based out of our Oaklands Junction storage yard.
This is a hands‐on, high‐accountability role at the centre of our operations — keeping our excavators, piling rigs and tools site‐ready, our transport and servicing running smoothly, and our yard organised and effective.

You'll work closely with project and site teams to make sure the right plant is in the right place at the right time, and with our maintenance and repair partners to keep downtime to a minimum across a busy, multi‐site civil and piling operation.
Key Responsibilities
Manage NCF's fleet of excavators, piling rigs, attachments and tools across all active project sites
Track the location, utilisation, condition and availability of all plant and equipment
Plan and coordinate plant allocation and movements between sites in line with project schedules
Maintain accurate fleet records, registrations, inspections and compliance documentation
Transport, Servicing & Repairs
Coordinate the transport of plant, machinery and equipment to and from sites
Manage scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs, liaising with mechanics, service providers and suppliers
Minimise plant downtime by proactively planning maintenance around project demands
Manage relationships and negotiate with external repairers, transport operators, parts suppliers and hire companies
Monitor and control fleet maintenance and repair costs against budget
Storage Yard Management
Oversee the day‐to‐day management of NCF's storage yard, including layout, security and housekeeping
Manage inventory of plant, tools, attachments and materials stored on‐site
Ensure the yard is maintained to a high standard of safety,

cleanliness and organisation
Coordinate the dispatch and return of equipment and tools to and from project sites
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all plant and vehicles are maintained in accordance with safety standards, legislative requirements and manufacturer specifications
Support NCF's safety, quality and environmental management systems and promote a strong safety culture around plant and yard operations
Maintain up‐to‐date compliance and maintenance records for audit purposes
About You
Proven experience in a fleet, plant or workshop management role, ideally within civil construction, piling, earthmoving or plant hire
Strong working knowledge of excavators, piling rigs, heavy plant and associated attachments
Experience coordinating transport, servicing and repairs with external contractors and suppliers
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple sites, priorities and timelines
A hands‐on, proactive approach with strong problem‐solving skills
Sound understanding of OHS requirements relating to plant, machinery and yard operations
Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with site teams, suppliers and management
Relevant trade background (e.g. diesel mechanic, plant mechanic) highly regarded but not essential
Why NCF
Join a well‐established and growing civil construction business with a strong reputation among Australia's leading builders
Be part of a business that values safety, quality and getting the job done right
Work across a varied and interesting fleet of civil, piling and earthmoving equipment
