Support Worker – Disability & Complex Supports

Brisbane North | Brisbane South | Bayside - Positions Available
n
Positions Available: We currently have 2 positions available. We are looking for immediate starts on the North Side of Brisbane and Bayside/Logan areas.
n

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Provide day-to-day support in line with individualised care plans
n
Deliver personal, behavioural and high-intensity supports in accordance with participant needs
n
Support participants with daily living activities and community access
n
Follow Behaviour Support Plans, clinical instructions and restrictive practice requirements
n
Maintain accurate shift documentation and promptly report incidents or concerns
n
Promote participant dignity, safety, choice and independence at all times
n
Work with children aged 6–16 years with ASD Level 2 & 3, ADHD, and non‐verbal participants
n
Work collaboratively with other support staff and allied professionals while also being able to work independently in line with participant support plans
n

What You'll Bring
n
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS-
n
n
Experience in disability, aged care, or community support
n
High-intensity support experience and Restrictive Practice including:
n
Seizure management
n
Epilepsy support
n
Dysphagia supports
n
Complex manual handling and hoist transfers
n
Medication management experience including Midazolam
n




Ability to provide evidence of relevant training and when it was last actively used (certificates required)
n
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other support staff while following support plans and behaviour strategies
n
Be a proactive worker — a fast thinker and a doer, not just someone filling a shift
n
Excellent communication skills, reliability and strong time management
n
Current First Aid & CPR (must have)
n
Current Working With Children Check / Blue Card (must have)
n
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
n
National Police Check
n
Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
n
Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation and Infection Control modules (or willingness to complete)
n
Willingness to work split shifts and availability across mornings, days, afternoons, nights and active or inactive overnight shifts
n
Australian work authorisation required at time of application
n
Minimum of 2 years experience in disability, aged care, or community support
n
n
High-intensity support experience must have been actively used within the last 6 months with appropriate evidence and certificates provided.
n
Highly Desirable / Preferred Experience
n
n




Experience supporting non‐verbal participants and children with ASD Level 2 or 3
n
RSTRICTIVE PRACTICE COMPETANT
n
Incident management and reporting experience
n
SIL (Supported Independent Living) experience
n
Experience transporting children and young people
n
Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
n
n
Qualifications -MUST HAVE
n
n
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Mental Health, MAYBO/CPI and RP
n
n
