Osborne Richardson is proud to be partnering with Advanced Fresh Concepts (AFC) -the team behind Sushi Izu, one of Australia's most recognised fresh sushi retail brands - to find a Food Safety Specialist to join their Quality team in Melbourne.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, field-based role ensuring every Sushi Izu kiosk across the network meets food safety and regulatory requirements - and keeps a major Australian retailer's rigorous quality standards front and centre.
You'll be the person franchisees trust to keep them audit-ready, compliant, and confident.
Reporting to the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Manager, you'll manage a full GMP audit schedule, investigate customer complaints with real root cause analysis, keep Food Safety Supervisor compliance airtight across every location, and represent AFC during quality audits conducted by their retail partner.
What You'll Be Doing
Conducting regular GMP audits across sushi kiosks and closing out non-conformances through retraining and follow-up visits
Investigating customer complaints and compiling Root Cause Analysis reports for the retail partner's Food Safety Team
Delivering induction training to new franchisees on AFC's Food Safety Program, and assessing franchisee suitability




Ensuring every kiosk has a current, certified Food Safety Supervisor
Guiding kiosks through their retail partner's quality audit preparation and representing AFC in office during those audits
Managing the online training program and ensuring completion across all staff
What We're Looking For
Solid food safety and quality assurance experience, ideally in retail food, QSR, or franchise environments
Confident, practical understanding of GMP, HACCP and food safety auditing
Comfortable delivering training and coaching to franchisees and frontline staff
Strong report writing skills - you'll be the one compiling RCA reports for a major retail partner
A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly between kiosk locations
Someone who can hold a firm line on compliance while building genuine trust with franchise partners
