Job Description
Renewable Energy Infrastructure Development Lead
Description
Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy – quick.
We're combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system.
We raised $210M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the Co-Founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify, Uber and more.
We're creating a fully integrated energy company: from developing renewable generation and grid infrastructure to powering the next generation of AI and compute-intensive industries.
But we're not stopping there.
We're also building the Energy Network: a decentralised platform of smart devices to electrify our homes, shifting usage to off-peak hours and helping balance the grid.
This network strengthens grid stability - a critical foundation for scaling AI data centers and other energy-intensive industries.
As AI drives unprecedented demand for power and data center capacity, the bottleneck is no longer chips – it is energy, grid infrastructure, and the ability to deliver new capacity at speed.
Responsibilities
Lead solar and BESS projects from early-stage opportunity through Ready-to-Build and energisation
Assess sites from technical, planning, grid, and infrastructure perspectives
Develop grid connection and power export strategies with AEMO, DNSPs, and network service providers
Support planning, permitting, and stakeholder engagement processes
Identify and mitigate technical and development risks across generation and storage assets
Ensure projects are deliverable, scalable, and aligned with construction and commissioning requirements
Experience developing utility-scale solar, BESS, or large-scale renewable energy infrastructure projects
Strong technical understanding of solar PV and battery storage systems, including inverter architecture, storage integration, and grid interconnection, with the ability to evaluate engineering decisions and challenge technical assumptions
Strong understanding of Australian planning frameworks and grid connection processes, including AEMO registration, DNSP negotiations, and relevant state-level approvals
Experience taking projects from early-stage development through design, permitting, and delivery readiness
Highly analytical, self-directed, and comfortable with significant ownership
Competitive salary
Biannual bonus scheme
Fully expensed tech to match your needs
