Role Responsibilities
Prepare estimates, cost plans and budgets
Receive, record and compare subcontractor and supplier bids
Provide recommendations to the General Manager regarding preliminaries, risk/opportunity, and margin allowances for tenders
Compile tender summary sheets, including labour histograms, preliminaries, and detailedsubcontractor/supplierquotation analysis
Develop and maintain subcontractor and supplier relationships and database
Prepare handover documents
Supervise, train, and mentor cadets and junior estimators
Negotiate with clients and consultants following submission of tenders and prior to acceptance
Role Requirements
Minimum 5+ years' local commercial construction estimating experience
Associated tertiary qualifications
Experience tendering on projects valued at $10 million and upwards
Experience with Buildsoft / Cubit is advantageous but not essential
Ability to estimate across all construction sectors would be advantageous but not essential
Organised and detailed with a high level of accuracy
Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
Positive and professional attitude with the ability to collaborate with other staff
Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
