We are currently seeking anexperienced Trade Qualified Foundry Moulderto join ourIpswich operationson afull‐time, permanent basis, withregular overtime available.
About the Role
Working within ourBeforecast team, you will prepare sand moulds for the casting of molten metal in a quick‐paced manufacturing environment.
This role offers:
38‐hour week (Monday to Friday)

You will report directly to theBeforecast Team Leaderand work as part of a skilled, collaborative production team.
Key Responsibilities
Produce moulds and coresusing boxed and boxless moulding techniques
Select appropriatemetal stockto meet job and casting requirements
Operate sand mixing machinery andprepare moulding boxes, setting patterns in place prior to pour
Fill moulding boxes with sand,apply refractory paint, and position cores correctly in moulds
Pour or assist withpouring molten metal into prepared moulds
Heat metal in furnacesand apply hammering, punching, andcutting techniques using hand toolsand machine presses where required




Temper and harden finished articles throughquenching in oil or water baths, or by controlled air cooling
Cut, trim, shape, and smooth stock to form mould patterns
Inspect patterns and identify defects impacting casting quality
Apply basicmetallurgy principlesto support sound castings
Finish metal articles bypolishing, buffing, and applying shellac, lacquer, paint, or other specified finishes
Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipmentsafely
Correct use and maintenance of PPE and safety equipment
Maintainclean and organisedwork areas
Contribute tocontinuous improvementand safe work practices
Skills & Experience Required
You will haveone of the following:
Trade qualification as aMoulder, Patternmaker, Coremaker, Metallurgist, Furnaceman or Pourer,or
Minimum4 years' foundry experience
You will demonstrate:
Understanding ofrunning and feeding systems
Knowledge ofmould coating technology and finishing operations
Ability to interpretengineering drawings
Safe operation of overhead cranes and lifting equipment
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Commitment to workplace safety and team collaboration
