Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise network architectures across multi site and hybrid cloud environments.
n
Provide specialist expertise across routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, WAN, LAN, VPN, and SD-WAN technologies.
n
Support platform engineering initiatives including automation, network as code, and infrastructure modernisation.
n
Conduct advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution across complex network and platform environments.
n
Implement and maintain network security controls including segmentation, zero trust models, and secureaccess solutions.
n
Develop and maintain technical design documents, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
n
Lead major network changes, upgrades, migrations, and integration activities.
n
Monitor network performance, analyse capacity, and ensure proactive tuning and optimisation.
n
Collaborate with architecture, security, cloud, and platform engineering teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.
n
Contribute to incident, problem, and change management processes in accordance with ITIL frameworks.
n
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineering and operations teams.
n
Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks, audit requirements, and industry standards.
n
Participate in vendor management, technology evaluations, and capability uplift initiatives.

Requirements
n
Required Skills and Experience
n
n




Extensive experience as a senior network engineer in complex enterprise environments.
n
Strong technical knowledge of enterprise networking technologies including routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, VPN, and wireless.
n
Experience designing and supporting hybrid network platforms across on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
n
Demonstrated expertise with enterprise firewalls and security appliances such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point.
n
Strong understanding of network security principles, segmentation, and secure architecture design.
n
Experience with automation and scripting such as Python, Ansible, or infrastructure-as-code.
n
Proven ability to lead major network projects, upgrades, and migrations.
n
Experience working within ITIL-based service management frameworks.
n
Robust communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
Proven experience working in enterprise, government, or regulated environments.
n
Required Australian Citizenship and Mandatory AGSVA NV1 Clearance.
n

Desirable Skills
n

Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, or JNCIP.
n
Experience with cloud networking and platform engineering services.
n
Knowledge of monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or Splunk.
n
Experience in government, defence, or critical infrastructure environments.
n
Exposure to DevOps and platform automation practices.
