Design Engineer -Startup

Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations
n
n
Contribute to the generation of current product design specifications and mechanical requirements.
n
Develop and execute design verification testing, plans and reports (in-house), followed by managing 3rd party verification testing.
n
Develop and implement ideas utilising Solidworks/CAD and produce manufacturable part and drawing packages.
n
Utilise advanced analysis software and techniques to validate and affirm design decisions throughout the product development lifecycle.
n
Interpret and apply relevant standards to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
n
Liaise with designers, electronics engineers and the NPI and manufacturing team to improve product quality, reliability, and manufacturability.
n

Qualifications, Experience and Skills
n
n
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.




n
Minimum 4 years experience in a design/engineering role in a product design environment.
n
Proficiency in software tools - SolidWorks or AutoCAD
n
Competency in conducting: FEA, Thermal Analysis, Structural Analysis, Vibration Analysis.
n
Knowledge in design for production processes including machining, sheet metal and injection moulding.
n
A high level of competency in 3D CAD modelling and creating 2D drawings and specifications.
n
Highly developed interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
n
A high level of creativity and able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
n
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, deliver and meet deadlines.
n
Keep yourself up to date with the latest technologies, tools and methods to be effective in your role.
