Ready for long weekends?
Build quality Aussie-made trailers with GLT and enjoy a four-day work week, competitive pay and benefits, and the chance to do skilled work with a team you can count on.
About the Role
As an experienced Boilermaker/Welder at GLT, you'll bring your trade skills into a hands-on workshop role where quality, precision, and pride in the finished product matter. You'll interpret technical drawings and instructions to fabricate and assemble trailers and components to high-quality standards, working across processes such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding, cutting, grinding, polishing, pressing, and heat treatment in steel and/or aluminium.
If you've built your trade in mining, civil, heavy construction, or field environments and you're ready for more routine, less travel, and a better balance outside work, this is a chance to bring your welding and fabrication skills into a stable workshop role without stepping back on quality or pride in the job.
In this role, you'll:
Work collaboratively and safely within a team environment.
Read and interpret technical drawings to perform welding and fabrication tasks.
Carry out welding duties (GMAW, TIG, Stick) along with cutting, grinding, and other fabrication processes on steel and/or aluminium.
Ensure all work meets quality, specification, and safety requirements.
Complete documentation accurately, including job cards, build records, and time cards.
What We're Looking For
A strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
Trade qualification or demonstrated experience in welding and fabrication with steel and/or aluminium.
Proven skills across MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes.
Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings.
A proactive, reliable, and positive approach to your work.
A disciplined approach to your work area, tools, processes, and finished output.
Clear, proactive communication and the ability to work well with others.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Experience in transport, trailer manufacturing or heavy vehicle assembly
Forklift or EWP licence
Welding or fabrication skills and experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, bend, repetition, and work in confined or awkward spaces.
Comfortable working in workshop conditions (heat, noise, dust) with PPE provided.
Competent in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely.
Why Join The Team?
Build high-quality Australian-made products you can see, stand behind, and take pride in.
Enjoy a four-day work week that supports better work-life balance, with more time at home and less disruption to life outside work.
Receive competitive market wages, bonus opportunities, and practical employee perks.
Ongoing training and opportunities to develop your trade
