Business Automation Engineer (Forward Deployed Role - Business Analysis skills required)
n 6-month contract (view to extend) | Inner Melbourne Suburbs | 2–3 days in office

A newly created, forward-deployed role embedded with a technology leadership group. You'll find, measure and remove the operational overhead currently eating into leaders' time, with a explicit target: cut it from 20% down to 10% within six months.

This is a hands-on build role, not a report-and-recommend role. You'll design and ship your own automation using agentic coding tools, not hand specs to someone else.

What you'll be doing:

Meeting with leaders to baseline where their time actually goes, and defining a measurement method that holds up
n
Designing and building automation end to end, from discovery through to production
n
Supporting workforce planning: capacity sizing, forecasting, resource planning, and automating the manual mechanics behind it
n
Establishing frameworks and documentation so improvements stick beyond the first six months
n

What we're looking for:

n

n
Strong business analysis fundamentals: process mapping, requirements elicitation, stakeholder facilitation
n
A track record of delivering process automation at scale
n
Comfort with agentic or vibe-coding tools. You build and deploy your own solutions!
n
Confidence operating autonomously in an embedded role, and pushing back constructively on senior stakeholders
n
Workforce planning or capacity forecasting experience is a plus
n

The details:

Six-month contract with a robust view to extend. Melbourne based, 2–3 days per week in office, occasionally working across time zones with a SE Asia based team. Direct line to the Engineering Director and his leadership team.
