About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Commercial Lawyer to join a well respected, growing legal team in Brisbane. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to make a significant contribution to our business and work on a diverse range of commercial matters. You will be a key legal advisor, working closely with various internal stakeholders and external parties.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of commercial matters, including:
n
Contract drafting, review, and negotiation (e.g., supply agreements, distribution agreements, service agreements, IT agreements, etc.)
n
Commercial transactions (e.g., mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate structuring)
n
Intellectual property (IP) matters
n
Privacy and data protection
n
Competition and consumer law
n
Manage complex legal projects and transactions, ensuring timely and effective completion.
n




Identify and assess legal risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
n
Instruct and manage external counsel where necessary.
n
Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and regulatory changes.
n
Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal matters.
n
Contribute to the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures.
n
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients and external stakeholders.
n

Skills and Experience:
n
n
Minimum of 5+ years post-admission experience (PAE) in commercial law.
n
Robust drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
n
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
n
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
n
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business principles.
