The Pyrenees Shire Council is seeking a passionate and experienced Child and Family Health Nurse to join our Community Wellbeing and Partnerships team on a casual basis.
n
In this rewarding role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based Maternal and Child Health services to families with children from birth to school age. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support the health, wellbeing and development of children while empowering parents and carers through education, early intervention and connection to specialist support services.

About the Role
n
n
Deliver Universal and Enhanced Maternal and Child Health services in line with Victorian guidelines.
n
Conduct developmental, health and wellbeing assessments for infants and young children.
n
Provide education and support to parents on infant feeding, breastfeeding, nutrition, sleep, child development, behaviour and parenting.
n
Undertake psychosocial assessments and identify families requiring additional support.
n
Facilitate referrals to specialist and community services where appropriate.
n
Deliver childhood immunisation services.
n




Maintain accurate clinical records and participate in multidisciplinary care planning.
n
Promote child safety and comply with mandatory reporting requirements.
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role you will have:
n
n
Current registration as a Registered Nurse and Midwife with AHPRA.
n
Qualifications in Child, Family and Community Health Nursing.
n
Demonstrated experience delivering Child and Family Health services.
n
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
n
Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
n
Flexibility to work across multiple locations within the municipality.
n
An understanding of the unique needs of families living in rural communities.
n
n
