$55,****** – $63,****** per year
The Role
This permanent role's primary purpose as the
Fire Equipment Technician
is to conduct maintenance services on portable fire equipment and fire hoses at FES workshops.
You will provide and deliver a collection of portable fire equipment between various locations for FES customers and suppliers from time to time.
The Fire Equipment Technician assists the Workshops Manager and Leading Hand to ensure that services are delivered in a timely manner and to
Australian Standards,
that alsosatisfies customer requirements and the Workshop Quality Objectives.
Functional Accountabilities
Under the direction of the Workshops Manager and / or Leading Hand, carry out deliveries and collection of portable fire equipment at FES satellite depots, FRV Sites and FES Customer sites
Under the direction of the Workshops Manager and / or Leading Hand, carry out pressure testing, refilling, repair and maintenance of portable fire equipment in accordance with Australian Standards and FES Workshops Secure Work Procedures.
Under the direction of the Workshops Manager and / or Leading Hand, carry out Warehousing activities such as, but not limited to, picking of new stock, loading of trolleys, warehouse racking and bundling of materials for recycling and waste.
Ensure documentation is accurate and complete. This includes regular updates to records of inspections, maintenance, and servicing performed on all fire safety equipment.
Assist the Workshops Manager with basic plant maintenance, being proactive in identifying, reporting and resolving of faults and hazards.
Working collaboratively with other team members, Team Leaders, Supervisors and specialist areas across FRV
Comply with all fire safety codes and standards and stay up to date with the latest fire safety technology and equipment, actively engaging in providing training and guidance where required.




Undertake professional training and development by participating in, and contributing to, organisational development programs including the continuous improvement program
Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear during all tasks, ensuring safe working practices. Stay up to date with the latest fire safety technology and equipment

This is an excellent opportunity for a person who is mechanically minded and able to work with administration tasks also to come and join the team at Fire Equipment Services (FES), a department of Fire Rescue Victoria in our Bayswater workshop.
You will work in a busy and cohesive team that maintains an array of fire safety equipment for FRV's operational teams, our fire fighters.

What you will need to Succeed
To be successful in this position, you will have:




Secondary School Education with competency acquired following on-the-job training OR short course(s) covering training in procedure, equipment usage, product knowledge or customer service techniques
Valid Victorian Driver's License (essential)
Medium Rigid (MR) Driver's License (essential)
** FRV are able to support the successful applicant in obtaining specific license if required (conditions apply).
A current Victorian Heavy Rigid (HR) driver licence is highly regarded.
Where additional licensing, training or recertification is required to enable an employee to perform their duties, FRV provides support in accordance with the applicable Enterprise Agreement.
