Norton Gold Fields is seeking a proactive and motivatedSafety Advisorto join our Safety/Haulage Team Reporting to theHealth & Safety Superintendent and Haulage Manager, this role provides dedicated system and administrative support to ensure effective safety compliance and performance across our haulage operations.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Safety Advisor, you will provide dedicated system and administrative support to the department and team for the provision of effective safety and compliance.
KEY DUTIES AND TASKS
Maintain and deliverinduction and training programsfor all site personnel
Provideexpert adviceto internal stakeholders on safety compliance and obligations
Investigate workplace incidents, prepare reports, and recommend preventive measures
Develop, implement, and reviewhealth and safety policies, procedures, and risk management plans
Conduct regularsite audits, inspections, and Critical Control Verifications
Support and mentor teams in hazard identification and control measures
Prepare timely reports, documentation, and safety plans to meet legal and company requirements
Collaborate with other departments to promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS)
Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Working at Heights & Confined Space Certification
Minimum 'C' Class unencumbered WA Driver's Licence
Workplace Drug & Alcohol Testing qualification (desirable)
Incident Investigation certification (ICAM, TapRoot) and Internal Auditor (desirable)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years onsite experiencewithin mining or construction
Strong understanding of theWorkSafe Act and Regulations
Proven experience implementing safety systems, conducting site inspections, and facilitating incident investigations
Skilled in developing and mentoring workers in JHAs, risk assessments, and SOPs
Competence in onboarding personnel and contractors
Proficient inMicrosoft Office Suiteand ideally experienced with systems like Cintellate, Rapid, or Security Commander
High organisational skills, ability to prioritise workloads, and excellent communication to build strong stakeholder relationships

Excellent remuneration package with additional allowances
Receive $12k residential allowance per annum, if you are residential and not FIFO.
Receive up to $5k site allowance per annum, depending on your site location.
Receive up to 10% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of your base salary.
