Southern Generators & Electrical is looking for a reliable and hands-on Manufacturing Trade Assistant to join our team. This is a excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to build a career in the generator and electrical installation industry.

About the Role
n
Working closely with our qualified trades team, you will primarily assist with the permanent on-site installation of new generator sets, along with a variety of ancillary workshop and site-based tasks. This is an active, physical role suited to someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys learning on the job.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
Assisting tradespeople with the installation and commissioning of recent generator sets on customer sites
n
Preparing generator sets, enclosures, and associated equipment for installation
n
Supporting mechanical work under supervision
n
Loading, unloading, and positioning equipment safely on site
n
Assisting with fabrication, fitting, and minor mechanical tasks
n
General workshop duties including housekeeping,
tool maintenance, and stock handling
n
Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site and company procedures
n
Other ancillary duties as directed by supervisors and tradespeople
n

What We're Looking For
n
n
A robust work ethic and willingness to learn
n
Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions
n
Comfortable with manual handling and physical, hands-on work
n
Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
n
Current driver's licence (essential) and truck licence would be desirable.
n
Previous experience would be well regarded in sheet metal fabrication and welding skills
n
Willingness to travel to customer sites as required
n
