This role sits within their growing litigation practice, based in Docklands, VIC.
About The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this position is to take carriage of a high-volume caseload of litigated and pre-litigation matters, from client intake through to settlement or hearing.
This is a full-time,
12-month fixed-term contract
with an immediate start available.
Reporting directly to the
Principal Lawyer
, some of your responsibilities will include:
Managing a high-volume caseload from intake to settlement or judgment
Drafting pleadings,
affidavits, court books and briefs to counsel
Progressing matters through Magistrates' Court proceedings
Negotiating and settling matters with insurers and opposing solicitors
Attending mediations, arbitrations and hearings as instructing solicitor
About You
The successful candidate will have:
Experience in insurance, motor vehicle accident or civil litigation matters
Admission (or imminent admission) to the Supreme Court of Victoria
A proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload to deadline
Sound knowledge of Magistrates' Court procedure
Strong drafting skills and confident negotiation experience
