Senior Environmental Consultant (Contaminated Land) to step into a Newcastle team where the projects are rolling in. This role seeks a secure set of hands to take ownership of reporting, delivery, and keep things moving.

The Role
n
You'll take ownership of contaminated land projects across a genuinely varied portfolio, supporting the team lead while guiding juniors.
n
n
Lead PSI / DSI reporting and technical delivery
n
Oversee remediation works including complex legacy sites
n




Mentor junior consultants and grads on reporting and fieldwork
n
Manage multiple projects concurrently — keeping delivery tight
n
Act as the go‐to for quality output across the team
n
n
Projects include
n
n
Slag remediation works
n
Former power station (diesel + complex contamination)
n
Coal mine closure and decommissioning projects
n
Waste and resource recovery sites
n
Singleton Bypass infrastructure project
n
Landfill reopening and regulatory‐driven works
n
n

The Newcastle office has historically been held back by location, hence the move into the CBD. The intent is simple: attract better people, build a stronger team, and keep momentum going.

You'll be working directly with a hands‐on team lead and two juniors who need guidance - not micromanagement, just someone who knows what good looks like.

What You'll Bring
n
n
6–8 years' experience in contaminated land consulting
n
Strong technical reporting capability (PSI, DSI, remediation)
n
Comfortable running projects without hand‐holding
n
Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff
n
Solid understanding of NSW regulatory framework
n
n
