My client known for their expertise in providing Electrification, Control Systems, Engineering, Manufacturing and Shutdown services in the Mining Industry.

The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth operation of business services, and improvement of operational systems, and processes, applying best practices across:
n
You will lead the HSEQ, Human Resources, Recruitment and the Mobilisation team
n
Key Accountabilities
n
Strategic leadership
n
Set and implement strategic plans to grow the business, improve efficiency, and meet organisational goals
n
Identify market opportunities and develop strategies to increase capacity safely and cost-effectively
n
Operations management
n
Oversee day-to-day running of Business Services, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement
n
Manage budgets, control expenses, and analyse financial data to support decision-making in business services.
n
People leadership & HR Management
n
Lead, motivate, and manage the team: hiring, training, performance evaluation, and development
n
Oversee HR functions across the Business — covering recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management frameworks, and policy administration
n
Ensure HR practices align with Code of Conduct and comply with relevant employment laws and regulations
n
Support workforce planning to meet operational and growth demands
n
Governance & reporting
n
Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures
n




Manage risk and maintain organisational standards
n
Prepare and present reports on business performance and market trends
n
Work closely with management to provide accurate, timely feedback and drive continuous improvement
n
Flexibility

Take on other duties as required

Experience
n
Industry & sector experience
n
Minimum 8-10+ years in a senior
operations/business
management role, ideally within mining services, engineering services, or industrial contracting
n
Direct experience working with or servicing Tier 1 mining clients (BHP, Rio Tinto, Fortescue, Roy Hill) - understanding their procurement processes, contractor management systems, and safety/compliance expectations is close to non-negotiable
n
Proven P&L; or budget ownership at a divisional or department level
n
People & IR experience
n
Experience managing enterprise agreements, award interpretation, and IR matters
n
Experience leading teams through growth or restructuring, not just steady-state management
n
Compliance & risk
n
Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation as it applies to mining services contractors (not just general corporate WHS)
n
Experience with contractor management systems and pre-qualification requirements Tier 1 clients mandate (safety statistics, insurances, inductions, verification of competency)
n
Candidates must be based in Perth and have Australian working rights
