OVERVIEW

n

The Marine/Service Technician is responsible for the repair and overhaul of boats, machinery and trailers.

n

KEY TASKS

n

n
Examine boat and discuss the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with the service advisor or customer.
n
P erform diagnostics and repair of all types of marine engines and transmissions/drives/generators.
n
Perform mechanical repair work such as:n n
remove engine, transom or outdrive
n
disassemble unit and inspect parts for wear
n
overhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems
n
rebuild parts such as engine cylinder blocks
n
rewire ignition system, lights and instrument panel
n
replace and adjust taillights
n
install and repair accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipers
n

n
Operate a hydraulic jack or hoist as needed.
n
A dvise customers and/or insurance adjusters as to necessary repairs.
n




Complete repair work utilizing service scheduler and SSO's within the established timeframe
n
Ensure all warranty work is completed according to manufacture's and MarineMax guidelines
n
Safely operate MarineMax and customer vessels during diagnostic water testing operations
n
Maintain MarineMax tools in valuable condition and according to guidelines
n
Other duties as assigned
