The role of the Communications Officer is to support Brisbane Catchments Network (BCN) to manage its communications through the website, e-newsletter, and social media.

Responsibilities

Liaise with BCN member groups to source and compile information for a quarterly newsletter for BCN members and subscribers.
n
Administer and regularly update the BCN website with events and activities.
n
Promote BCN activities and events through social media resources such as Facebook, with a minimum of 10 items per month.
n
Develop and maintain a close relationship with the BCN Executive and members, Brisbane City Council Officers, and other stakeholders as relevant.
n
Develop and implement a BCN Communications Strategy and associated action plans to further enhance the BCN's umbrella representative and advocacy roles.
n
Provide a written report to the BCN monthly meeting.
n
Attend forums such as the Lord Mayor's Catchment Roundtable as required, and communicate relevant information and actions to BCN members.

Hours and payments
n
Time worked may be variable depending on communication deadlines and activities, but in general the position is for 7.5 hours per week at a payment rate of $35 per hour plus superannuation. The position is for an initial period of 12 months from the date of signing of a Letter of Agreement.
